Community Walk Rules

By participating in the free Community Dog Walk event you agree to abide by these rules.

Dog Suitability: Participants confirm that their dogs are confident and comfortable around other dogs and people. This event is not suitable for dogs that are fearful, reactive, or aggressive. 

Safety: If a dog's behavior poses a risk to others, participants may be asked to leave to ensure the safety of all attendees.

Vaccinations: All participating dogs must be up to date on rabies, parvo, and distemper vaccinations.

Leashes: All dogs must be on a 6 ft. standard leash. Retractable leashes are not permitted.

Collars and Harnesses: A standard clip or buckle collar or a well-fitted body harness is recommended for all dogs.

Rewards: Participants should bring high-value treats, a toy, or other rewards to reinforce their dog’s good behavior.

Water: Participants must bring water for both themselves and their dogs.

Responsibility for Clean-Up: Participants are responsible for cleaning up after their dogs and themselves, ensuring the event location remains clean.

Personal Space: Participants must respect others by allowing adequate space to train and work with their dogs.

Trainer’s Guidance: Participants agree to follow the trainer’s instructions. Disruptive behavior from either dogs or participants will not be tolerated.

Liability Waiver: Participation is at the participant's own risk. The event organizer, trainer, and venue are released from any liability for injuries or damages incurred during the event.

Media Consent: Photos and videos taken during the event may be used for promotional purposes by the organizer.

Contact Consent: By submitting this form, participants consent to being contacted by the organizer via email or phone regarding this event and future updates.

Preparation Checklist

Always Bring:

  • Your (hungry) dog
  • Treats your dog really likes (You can also bring a toy if you want)
  • A well-fitted body harness or a standard buckle/clip collar
  • 6 ft leash
  • Water for yourself and your dog
  • Waste disposal bags
  • Wear comfortable clothes and shoes

Event Location

  • Meeting Point: We will gather at the corner of Hammock Rd and CR 635. There is a space to park just before the park entrance.
  • Arrival: We will allow approximately 5 minutes for everyone to arrive and get situated.
  • Route: The walk will take place along the sidewalk on Hammock Rd.
  • Trainer Availability: Brook, the trainer, will be available to answer questions and provide guidance throughout the walk.
  • Walk Length: The walk duration will depend on the group and how far we wish to walk.
  • Return: Once ready, we will turn around and walk back to our vehicles.
  • Fees: This is a FREE event hosted by Brook's Dog Training Academy. There are no participation fees.
  • Parking: You may park in the dirt/grassy area on either side of Hammock Rd. Areas highlighted yellow in photo below.
